I have a question rather than a comment. As an aspiring illustrator myself, I am desperately trying to find the answer to this question, which pertains to the illustration above showing a girl's face: Do you have to get a model release, or pay royalties to the person whose face you portrayed in the illustration? Did you have a 'sitter' for that illustration, or did you use a photograph?

I want to create art based on photos of people that I have taken, and change features enough to no longer resemble the person in the photograph. Is this legal?
